5 Things We're Loving This Summer

Warmer temps and longer days mean that summer is in full swing. It also means you may have a bit of extra time on your hands. Fill those sunny days with these five things our employees can’t get enough of right now.

"Creating jewelry is one of the most fun activities I've done this summer. I've been making hand-made earrings from metal and polymer clay. It requires a gentle hand and patience; however, I find it to be very relaxing. I put on some Marvin Gaye and get to work."

You can grab Isabel's beautiful hand-made jewelry here. You can also get into jewelry making yourself with this monthly jewelry subscription service that delivers the materials right to your door.

“I’m a coffee lover, and Dalgona whipped coffee brought it to another level. Add some ice, and it makes for a perfect morning drink in the summer!”

Don’t just take her word for it, check out this yummy Dalgona coffee recipe and try it for yourself! There’s even a Keto version available for those watching their carb intake.

“My summer reading list grows longer and longer each year, and so does the list of books I’m loving. This summer, one of my favorites is ‘Braver Than You Think’ by Maggie Downs. This true story is a moving read about the connections we make with places, people, and ourselves when we travel. COVID-19 may have kept me from taking trips this summer, but this book took me hiking up Machu Picchu, rafting down the Nile River, volunteering at an elephant sanctuary, and many more beautiful places.”

This book has 4.7 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and one reviewer says it’s the best book for 2020. If you’re sold, grab it here and add it to your summer reading list.

“One of the things I’m loving the most about summer is getting to know my neighbors better. My wife and I have made friends with a few of the houses near ours and had many socially-distanced front yard get-togethers throughout this pandemic. We’ll all bring our favorite snacks and beverages and have a great time outside. Had it not been for the pandemic, we’re not sure if we would have even met these neighbors.”

Don’t let the pandemic get you down. Get inspired and host a socially-distant gathering. Invite everyone to bring a dish or use this step-by-step guide to create the perfect summer charcuterie board for everyone to enjoy.

“There’s nothing better than settling into a chair at the beach or pool with a great book. My friends and I started a virtual book club to stay in touch and find the perfect summer read. We take turns picking books and then hop on a video chat to discuss!”

Joining or creating a virtual book club is the perfect way to socialize with friends from a distance or even make new ones. Ready to get started? Check out these virtual clubs you can join now or this list of more must-have summer reads.
