COMINGHOMEMAG
rowing up in the Midwest, I was
fortunate to truly experience
all four seasons. Every three
months, the view from my
window transformed, and there
was something new to celebrate. Vibrant
leaves in the fall came with football games,
the first blanket of snow meant icicles and
sledding, the thaw of spring led to early
evening bike rides, and the arrival of summer's
heat prompted lazy afternoons at the pool.
I still appreciate each season and what it
brings, but I always look forward to this time
of year when we shake off the winter chill and
soak up the warmth of spring.
While it's a transitional period that kicks
off a drastic change in weather, spring also
welcomes a wonderful display of growth.
Just look around, and you'll see growth
everywhere. The trees are sprouting leaves,
flowers are blooming, and baby ducklings are
perfecting their little waddles. A season of
rebirth and opportunity, these months set the
stage for growth in all forms. And that's what
this issue is about: growth—in all forms.
In the coming pages, we ask grown-ups to
tell us the advice they'd give to their younger
selves (P. 9) and share adult spins on beloved
childhood recipes (P. 24). We divulge tips
for growing your network (P. 27) and track
important milestones in your baby's first year
(P. 10). We're digging into how to grow, pick,
and use the in-season fruits and veggies right
now (P. 19), too.
Thank you for choosing to spend some time
with us at Coming Home. I hope this issue
offers a refreshing escape and encourages
you to celebrate growth in this season
and beyond.
