Editor's Letter
absolutely love traveling, and it's my
goal to visit all 50 U.S. states (I only
have 12 left!). Unfortunately, I had
to put this goal on hold because of the
pandemic, but I'm ready to get back out
there, and I'm sure a lot of you are, too.
Recently, I read an article that said over
80% of American adults are expected to
travel this summer. I was amazed by that
stat—and when we were brainstorming
ideas for this issue, I knew we had to do a
big story on travel hacks. Who doesn't want
to make packing a suitcase or navigating an
airport a little easier? I know I do.
However, we couldn't make this issue all
about traveling. We're Coming Home, not
Leaving Home, after all.
To some of us, summer means getting
away, but to others, the perfect retreat is
right at home. That's why we wanted this
issue to speak to how summer makes us
feel, no matter where we're going or what
we're doing.
A theme that shines bright, light is the
concept you'll see throughout our first-ever
summer-only issue. Of course, we're talking
about traveling light (P. 16), but we also
share tips for finding the best light bulb
(P. 24), and light salad recipes (P. 10). Plus,
we're covering what brightens our readers'
days (P. 15), how management companies can
lighten the board's load (P. 34), and more.
As always, I hope you enjoy reading this
issue of Coming Home as much as we
enjoyed creating it. Happy summer!
