M o v i e N i g h t Feel-good family films you'll want to watch ASAP. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial This 1982 science-fiction classic from director Steven Spielberg is one of the summer movie season's most successful releases, bringing in nearly $800 million at the box office. The titular alien character is on a quest to go home and, along the way, encounters a boy named Elliott. The unique creature's harrowing adventure and heart-warming charm captivated audiences then, and continue to today, 40 years later. Great for a re-watch, E.T. is entertaining for the whole family and a picture you'll come back to again and again. Yes Day Available on Netflix, Yes Day shows what it's like for a family to hand over the responsibility of rule-making to the kids. Mom and dad, Allison and Carlos, give their three children 24 hours to get whatever they want—food, games, a trip to the amusement park, and much more. A movie that kids and parents can relate to, Yes Day is a delightful feature that might inspire your family's own day of fun and excitement. Field of Dreams Widely regarded as the quintessential baseball film, Field of Dreams is the perfect watch for both baseball lovers and newbies. Nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, the sports fantasy follows Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Costner, as he builds a baseball field on his corn farm that attracts the ghosts of former legendary players. The film is so beloved among baseball fans that Major League Baseball held a regular-season game on a cornfield in 2021. The Mitchells vs. The Machines Coming off a Best Animated Feature nomination at the 94 th Academy Awards, The Mitchells vs. The Machines is a popular flick currently ready to stream on Netflix. The Sony Pictures Animation film is about a family of four (and their googly-eyed dog) that embarks on a summer road trip they'll never forget. When an uprising of evil robots threatens the globe, the family is left saving the world while also working through their personal drama. Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, this 2021 release offers action, humor, and genuine moments, giving everyone a little something to enjoy. PASS THE TIME 9
