ur theme for this issue of Coming
Home is enrichment. Enrichment is the
process or action of improving the quality or
value of something. It involves seeking out and
engaging in pursuits that enhance our lives.
With fall's comfortable climate and promise of
soon-to-be-had celebrations, there's an air of
excitement this time of year—and it's ripe for
enrichment. We do little things, like cozy up in
knit sweaters, light pumpkin-scented candles,
and drink hot apple cider, not just to honor the
season, but to make it even better.
Then, we soak up the experiences, like
gathering to cheer on our favorite football
teams (Go Bengals!), experimenting with
fall ingredients, and getting creative with
Halloween costumes. And while seemingly
routine, the camaraderie, eagerness to learn,
and innovation that stem from these ordinary
autumnal activities is effortlessly nourishing
and fulfilling.
In the coming pages, we're exploring fall's
natural essence of enrichment. We're sharing
99 activities to do with your family (P. 16),
spooky Halloween flicks to watch (P. 29), easy
game day recipes (P. 12), and a finger-painting
leaf craft (P. 5). Plus, we're highlighting the
best state fairs (P. 8), tips for getting ready for
your Thanksgiving turkey trot (P. 10), and much
more to inspire you to embrace and make the
most of this season.
Thank you for being here; I hope you have an
enriching reading experience!
