s I get older, I understand the
importance and value of traditions.
Traditions connect us to our past, preserve
our heritage, and provide continuous
comfort, structure, and stability. The
customs, events, and rituals we look forward
to time and time again, traditions make us
who we are and add meaning to our lives.
One of my favorite things about fall is all
the traditions that come with it. In this
issue of Coming Home, we're exploring
some of the most significant traditions and
the fascinating ways people honor and
celebrate this season. From Oktoberfest's
boisterous origins and Diwali's rich history to
Halloween's haunting start, you'll find it right
here (P. 14).
Plus, we've curated other stories that spark
inspiration and joy in fall's bountiful offerings.
We're sharing the spookiest spots across
North America (P. 22), leaf-raking hacks
(P. 8), and back-to-school snacks (P. 10).
We also feature an interview with an apple
orchard owner (P. 6) and tips for hosting a
winning tailgate (P. 13).
Thank you for choosing to read Coming
Home magazine. We hope this issue
encourages a renewed appreciation for
tradition and the unique spirit of fall.
