few months ago, I stumbled across
a box of my grandmother's keepsakes.
Inside were tokens she saved from meaningful
moments in her life: her kindergarten
graduation certificate, a ticket from her
homecoming dance, pressed flowers from
her first date with my grandfather, postcards
from friends overseas, and so much more.
My family and I spent hours sifting through
her treasures, strolling down memory lane,
and marveling over how times and traditions
have changed.
As we shared these stories and reminisced
over days long past, I was filled with warmth,
gratitude, and a deep sense of connection.
There's something undeniably beautiful and
powerful about looking back. Nostalgia has a
way of grounding us, reminding us of who we
are and what we're made of.
In this issue, we're leaning into that spirit
of reflection. You'll journey through the
evolution of home architecture styles (p.
14), revisit the sitcoms that defined the '90s
(p. 30), and rediscover fashion trends we
secretly hope make a comeback (p. 27). We'll
unwrap classic candies that still hit the sweet
spot (p. 32), explore the roots of community
associations (p. 12), and unpack tips for
reviving your favorite cozy old sweater (p. 26).
So, as the air crisps and the leaves turn,
I hope this issue inspires you to pause,
embrace the past, and savor the comforting
familiarity of this special season.
