Cape Cod
Rooted in TRADITIONAL ENGLISH COTTAGE
styles brought to North America in the 17th century,
the Cape Cod design began with the early settlers
landing on Cape Cod and along the Northeast
coastline. However, it wasn't until the late 1920s that
the style became more renowned in American home
architecture.
While Cape Cods are described as modest,
one-and-a-half-story homes, they pack an architectural
punch with beautiful layouts, steep roofs, distinguishing
dormer windows, and CHARMING slanted ceilings.
Naturally, Cape Cods are usually in NEW ENGLAND
and parts of ATLANTIC CANADA, but they can be
found elsewhere, too.
